Predict Your Ovulation and Boost Your Fertility
There is a certain window of time each month
when a woman can get pregnant. This period of time occurs during ovulation and fertility chances are
high.
Tracking ovulation has been proven to be a good way to increase the chances of
getting pregnant. Women who track their ovulation and menstrual cycle also have the advantage of being more aware
of their body.
This means that if there are fertility problems she will be more likely to realize
them and get treatment to cure them than a woman who does not do ovulation tracking.
How Ovulation
Works
Ovulation is the term for the phase of the menstrual cycle when
the fallopian tubes release an egg. It is at this phase of the menstrual cycle when a woman can become pregnant.
During ovulation, a woman experiences many changes within her body.
These changes can feel very slight and in many cases are not even noticeable by a woman under normal circumstances.
That is because she is not looking for changes. When a woman is tracking ovulation, it is often these changes that
help her to determine when she is ovulating.
Ovulation is not completely clear, though. Many women have
irregular cycles. Some women may have a 28-day cycle one month and the next month she may have a 31-day cycle. The
body is often unpredictable like that.
The causes of irregular cycles include stress, increased physical activity, illness or can be a sign of an
underlying medical condition. Irregular cycles can also be completely normal. Regardless, this can make the job of
tracking ovulation difficult.
Overcoming
Hurdles
It is very important that a woman who is tracking her ovulation in
order to increase her fertility, is very specific and carefully with whatever method she uses. It is often a good
idea to use several methods of ovulation tracking just to ensure all information is correct. Practice does help.
The longer a woman tracks her ovulation, the less likely chance of her making a mistake.
For a beginner, though, being precise is important. Exact notes
should be kept and great care taken to ensure that all signs of ovulation are caught. It also helps to learn as
much and possible about the menstrual cycle, especially ovulation. It is also helpful to keep in mind that
ovulation usually occurs two weeks prior to menstruation.
Methods of Predicting
Ovulation
There are many ways to predict ovulation. Some methods are more
popular than others. All can be done in the privacy in your own home. Most are methods that can be done by anyone
as they simply involve counting and noting body changes.
Counting the days of your menstrual cycle is a common practice to
predicting fertility. The menstrual cycle begins on the first day of bleeding. Count from the first day to the
first day of your next period.
You will need to do this for a few months in order to see if a pattern develops. If you have a regular cycle then
you can determine that ovulation occurs around the eleventh to the fourteenth of your cycle. This is fine for women
who have regular cycles.
Another method that is more accurate and better for those who have
irregular cycles is tracking body changes.
Common signs that your body is ovulating include
tenderness in the breasts, increased vaginal secretions, pain in the abdomen and an increase in body
temperature.
Most women who use this method will monitor their temperature everyday to see when it rises. At that point, they
will look for other signs to determine ovulation.
These two methods are the most common way that women can track
ovulation and fertility issues can disappear. When a woman is more aware of her menstrual cycle and can determine
ovulation it makes it much easier to conceive.
